1,037,275. Locking rotary elements. TELEMECANIQUE ELECTRIQUE. May 31, 1963 [Aug. 17, 1962], No. 21980/63. Heading F2E. [Also in Division H2] Interlocking mechanism for preventing simultaneous displacement of two displaceable elements, e.g. the moving contact-operating elements of a pair of electrical contactors C 1 , C 2 ,comprises a pair of rockable members L 1 ,L 2 each arranged to be rocked when an associated element is displaced, an arm provided on each member being arranged such that the two arms are offset from each other and crossed in the undisplaced condition of the elements, and projecting bosses 11 1 ,11 2 on these arms being so arranged that they do not normally interfere with each other when either of the elements is displaced without the other, but engage when any attempt is made to displace both elements simultaneously, or to displace one element after the other element has already been displaced. As shown, each rocking member consists of a shaft 8 which is journalled in a frame 7 supporting the pair of contactors C 1 ,C 2 and which carries the arm and also a pair of arms 9 which engage the lower ends of two contact-operating rods 5 of the associated contactor. The upper ends of rods 5 are connected by a resilient cruciform plate 4 to the contactor armature 3. The projecting bosses 11 1 ,11 2 have curved surfaces 14 1 ,15 1 ,14 2 ,15 2 respectively, the surfaces 14 1 ,152 being concentric with the axis of shaft 8 1 ,and the surfaces 14 2 ,15 1 ,being concentric with the axis of shaft 8 2 ,so that upon engagement of the bosses no camming action occurs which would cause a previously actuated contactor rod 5 to be returned to its unactuated position. A spring 12, tensioned between abutments 13 on the arms 10 1 ,10 2 ,maintains the rocker members in contact with the rods 5 and may also act as a common return spring for releasing the contactors. |
