PURPOSE:To properly heat an sucked air during the cooling of an engine, improve the starting performance of an engine and shorten the operating time of a heating equipment by providing a positive temperature characteristic semiconductor element which is electrically turned on only when the engine is cooled off. CONSTITUTION:A positive temperature characteristic semiconductor element 4 shaped like a plate with multiple through holes pierced and with element electrodes on the both sides, is provided between an intake manifold 2 and an air duct 3 connecting an air cleaner not illustrated. This element 4 is electrically turned on by means of a water temperature switch 5 which is in ''on'' position when a cooling water for an engine is at low level and a contact point on a relay 6 which is also in ''on'' position when a series circuit consisting of an ignition switch and a fuse 8 is formed. As a result, it is possible to properly heat a sucked air when an engine is cooled off, improve the starting performance of an engine and cut short an operating time for a heating equipment. |
