NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [R is H, lower lakyl, phenyl(lower) alkyl, etc.; R1 is 4-7C alkanoyl, benzoyl, substituted benzoyl, etc.] and a salt thereof. EXAMPLE:1-( D-3-Benzoylthio-2-methylpropanoyl )-L-prolyl -L- phenylalanine.tert- butylester. USE:A hypotensive agent having the mild development of its action with a long duration. PROCESS:A compound of formula II or a reactive derivative at the carboxyl group thereof is reacted with a compound of formula III in a solvent, e.g. THF, in the presence of a base, e.g. NaHCO3, to give the compound of formula I. Preferaly, the proline part and the steric configuration of the phenylalanine part in the starting compounds of formulas II and III are in agreement with those of the aimed compound of formula I. |
