PURPOSE:To improve a printing speed, by a method wherein wire dots of a printing head for a serial printer are arranged in a two dimensional matrix, and a letter pattern in a plurality of rows can be printed simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:Wire dots 1 of a printing head 6 for a serial printer, for use with a serial printer, such as processers, are arranged in a two dimensional matrix. A plurality of driving solenoids 3, which drive corresponding to their respective wire dots 1 and can drive simultaneously, and wire dot guides 2 for guiding the driven wire dots 1 are mounted. Where, for example, a letter pattern 4 is printed, this enables performing of printing, which is equivalent to one letter, in two printing actions as the printing head 6 moves to printing positions E and F in order named above, and also permits printing of even a part of an adjacent letter pattern. |
