<p>PURPOSE:To rapidly form a tapered neck part conforming to a size on the circumferential surface of a glass pipe by pressing a revolving roller which makes one reciprocative motion along the axial direction of the pipe during one turn of the glass pipe. CONSTITUTION:While a glass pipe 1 which is gripped by a pair of chucks 2 at the top and bottom is being rotated at a fixed speed, it is heated to a formable state by a heater 12, after which the pipe 1 is elongated to form a small-diameter part 1A corresponding to the head part of an ampoule. Next, this pipe 1 is brought into contact with the annular projection part 6 of a rolling roller 3 which moves vertically along the axial direction of the pipe 1, and the roller 3 is reciprocatively moved once by means of an eccentric cam 8, a rod 7, and a holder 5, during one turn of the pipe 1 to press the pipe 1, whereby a tapered neck part 11 is formed, after which the upper part of the neck part is cut with a cutting burner 13.</p> |
