PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of printing quality due to shift in a printing time, by a method wherein a system, which changes an excitation starting time of a drive system for a printing element corresponding to changes in a distance between the dot end of the printing element and a platen, is mounted. CONSTITUTION:A dot printer detects a mark of a fly wheel which turns in synchronism with the movement in the direction of an arrow mark of a bank 2 whereon printing elements 1 are attached, generates synchronizing pulse from a detector 3 corresponding to the position of the bank 2, and uses said pulse as a print timing signal. In the dot printer, the print timing signal is regulated using a single stabilized multivibrator. That is, with changes in a position of a platen 11 by means of an adjusting knob 12, a resistance value of a variable resistor 13 varies, and as a result, the time constant of the single stabilized multivibrator 14 changes. After the print timing signal (pulse), which is inputted from a side A, is changed so that the excitation starting time of the printing element 1 can become appropriate, it is outputted from a side B, and thus, the occurrence of a shift in printing is prevented. |
