The guide is fitted to a vehicle chassis for loading and unloading a container. It has two guide gullies (52,53) mounted loosely on a horizontal axis (62). These retain two parallel longitudinal beams (56,58) under the container (38) base (60). A hydraulic ram (68,78) moves the gullies across the main axis (62). This aligns the gullies with the longitudinal beams. The axis (62) can also move along itself via a crank (78) fixed to it and worked by the ram pressing on a fixed point. The axis (62) is held in bearings (64,66) on the chassis.
