PURPOSE:To obtain safe and effective current limiting effect, by forming a coil around a superconductive body and connecting both terminals of the coil to both terminals of said superconductive body in parallel. CONSTITUTION:A coil 2, generating a magnetic field, larger than the critical field of a superconductive body, when a system grounding voltage is impressed thereon, is arranged around the oxide high-temperature superconductive member 1, having a critical temperature higher than the boiling point of liquid nitrogen. Both terminals of the coil 2 are connected electrically to both terminals A, B of the superconductive body in parallel. When the superconductive body is quenched once, a potential difference is generated between both terminals of the coil 2 and a current is conducted through the coil 2 whereby the magnetic field, larger than the critical field of the superconductive body, may be generated. |
