<p>Multiimpression injection moulding tool is fitted with a series of concentric rings each bearing a series of numbers or other characters at intervals which match the space between adjacent mould cavities. Rachet systems allow each ring to progressively index by one cavity so that each successive moulding cycle produces mouldings with different numbers. Used esp. for moulding items for security systems, so that each moulding of a set within the total numerical capacity of the concentric rings has a unique number which is not, to lay eyes, part of a simple sequence of serial numbers. Esp. for six rings each numbered 0-9, the first moulding cycle produces mouldings bearing the nos. 000000 - 999999; then if one ring is indexed round the next set of mouldings are 100000, 211111, 322222, etc.</p> |
