A METHOD OF MAKING RUBBER COVERED ROLLS

A rubber covered roll is made of three parts (8, 6, 10). The center rubber part (6) has a lesser durometer reading than the two end rubber parts (8, 10). The three rubber parts of the roll are placed on an arbor (2) and maintained under pressure while the two end parts are vulcanized to the center part; at the same time the composite vulcanized three-part rubber structure is bonded to the arbor.
