1,031,797. Operator's cabs for overhead travelling cranes. DOMINION BRIDGE CO. Ltd. Feb. 8, 1963, No. 5248/63. Heading B8B. A tube 6, Fig. 2, supports the platform 17 of an operator's cab 5 from the bridge 10 of a travelling crane and is provided with doorways 12, 16, Fig. 4, and a ladder 15 to enable the operator to move safely between the cab and the bridge. The tube also has a step 14 at the bottom and a hand-rail 16 at the top. Railings 19, Fig. 2, surround the platform 17 which may be fully or partly enclosed. In the latter construction a door 31, Fig. 9, may be provided leading to an external platform 33. A mounting flange 23, Fig. 4, permits the cab to be secured to the bridge so oriented that the driver has the best view of the load. The tube shields the driver from power cables 34 and pick-up mechanism 35, Fig. 2.
