The potential energy motor is claimed to produce a continuous power output by maintaining continuous radially inward tension via cables (27 over 13 and 16, 28 over 14) acting on leaf springs (23 and 21). These are secured (20,19) at the two ends of a metal strap (18) around the spiral surface of a disc (17) fixed to a central output shaft (1). It is claimed that this results in a nett torsional moment about the centre of the shaft which can be caried by altering the spring tension. The clamps for the leaf springs are on the strap and retained by screws or are pressed.
|
