<p>The gaskets for oil sumps, valve covers etc. for internal combustion engines, are made from a homogenous mixture of rubber and finely granulated and compressed filler substance, with homogenously distributed fibres included. The filler substance consists of 100 parts of a vulcanisable rubber, 20 to 160 parts of a compressible filler and 3.5 to 35 parts of fibre. The filler can be cork granules or hollow glass microcapsules, the smallest size being between 0.1 and 2 mm. The fibres can be organic and/or inorganic of synthetic or natural origin, their length being between 2 and 15mm. and greater than the average diameter of the granules.</p> |
