Vehicle floor covering with leather-like feel - has flexible layer of chlorinated polyethylene, polystyrene and factice on foam base

Vehicle floor covering consists of a tough upper layer of flexible plastics and an elastic foam under-layer. The upper layer is 0.5-3.5 mm thick and consists of a mixt. of 45-65 (wt.)% chlorinated polyethylene (I), 5-15% polystyrene (II) and 5-15 % factice (III), together with the usual additives. There is also an intermediate layer contg. about equal portions of 10-20% EPDM, polyethylene (IV), polyisobutylene (V) and bitumen (VI). The floor covering does not fall off and can be prepd. easily. Its upper layer has a leather-like feel and can be coloured well. It is resistant to oil, O3 and rotting, has low shrinkage and can be deep drawn without subsequent vulcanisation.
