PRODUCTION OF POLYMER COMPLEX HAVING GAS ABSORPTIVE AND DESORPTIVE CAPACITY

PURPOSE:To produce titled polymer complex, by irradiating a mixture of a specified metal complex and a vinyl type compound in a rolution state with a radiation in the absence of oxygen. CONSTITUTION:A polymer complex is prepared by irradiating a mixture of a vinyl type compound such as an acrylate ester and a metal complex prepared by compounding, in a mol ratio of about 1-1,000:1, a high-molecular ligand such as a vinylpyridine (co)polymer with a low-molecular metal complex having, as a central metal, a transition metal selected from Groups VIb-VIII metals and Groups Ib- IIb metals, such as iron, cobalt or nickel, with a radiation such as gamma rays or electron rays in the absence of oxygen. The polymer produced has utility as a fixing catalyst for capturing a particular gas in the air, a gas support which can easily desorb gas or a photoconductive polymer.
