<p>A bucket, beaker or shovel-shaped unit, for loosening layered bulk material or vegetation-covered earth and carrying it to a conveyor, serves as digging tool on a bucket-wheel, excavator, scraper conveyor, ship unloader or elsewhere. It is made up from a sheet metal structure (1-7,9-11), and a non-metallic shell (8). The latter can have a reinforcement of wire or cable, or of fibreglass. The first type of reinforcement can be used for heating the shell, or a special heating net can be used. The shell can be made of rubber or plastics. This is easily made and light in weight and permits rapid replacement of worn components, and is widely adaptable, corrosion-resistant and quiet.</p> |
