The skateboard comprises a platform (10) with a roller (31) rotatable about a horizontal axis (32) at its underside. The, or each, roller is also pivotable about 360 degrees about a vertical axis (33). A vertical rod (20) on the top of the platform provides a handhold. The rod may be secured (21) to a base plate (22) releasably fixed on the platform by screws (23) through bores (14) in the platform with wing nuts (25). The rod is preferably between 700 and 1100 mm long and may consist of two telescopically connected and lockable lengths. There may be one, two or three rollers.
