<p>PURPOSE:To dry-quench hot red coke in a quenching furnace with better quenching efficiency and yield by vertically positioning a gas suction cylinder provided with a sheath pipe through which quenching gas is jetted at the central part of a quenching chamber and then circulating the quenching gas. CONSTITUTION:A quenching gas for hot red coke 16, sucked from a gas sucker 4 into the main quenching chamber 3 of a quenching furnace body 1, is sucked into the suction port of a gas suction cylinder 17 vertically provided at the center of the main quenching chamber 3 and then discharged through a gas exhaust pipe 18 to a duct 7. On the other hand, the gas discharged to the duct 7 is cooled and purified through a dust collector 8, a waste heat boiler 9, and a cyclone 10, mostly blown into the main quenching chamber 3 through a blower 24 from the gas sucker 4, and then partly blown through a branch pipe 23 into the sheath pipe 21 to cool the gas exhaust pipe 18. Then the gas is jetted through the nozzle 22 of the sheath pipe 21 into the primary quenching chamber 2 to quench the hot red coke 16, discharged by being sucked through the gas suction cylinder 17, and then recycled for reuse.</p> |
