PURPOSE:To avoid wasteful consumption of cooling energy by estimating necessary cooling wind flowrate considered from temp. and volume velocity and operating cooling fans of the number corresponding to said estimation at the time of cooling a high-temp. steel strip which is metal hot dipped. CONSTITUTION:The gage H, width B and conveying speed V of a high-temp. metal strip which has been metal hot dipped are inputted to the multiplier 2 of a cooling fan number control device 1, whereby volume velocity MF is calculated. This value is inputted together with the temp. A of the steel strip to a wind flow rate operator 3, which in turn operates the cooling wind flow rate rho necessary for cooling the steel strip down to a target temp. This rho is inputted to comparators 4-7 and according to the value thereof, only the necessary comparators out of the comparators 4-7 output to respectively corresponding cooling fans 11-14, thereby operating only the cooling fans corresponding to the necessary wind flowrate. Hence, no surplus fans are operated and this decreases the consumption of energy and prevents the steel strip from overcooling. |
