<p>Concrete (7) is transmitted from a hopper (6) forming a part of mobile concrete pumping apparatus from which concrete is pumped through a flow line having a Y-pipe inlet (9). Two piston-cylinder pump units, (12, 12') mounted side-by-side, rapidly charge with concrete. The pump units are pivotally mounted, to locate the cylinder aligned with the discharge pipe (10) or with one inlet (14) of the Y-pipe inlet (9). Each pump has a valve plate (18) pivoting with the cylinder to alternately close the hopper opening and the inlet line. Hydraulic cylinder units (19) are coupled to the valve plates to pivot the pumps (12, 12'). A floating valve plate (20) has coupling pipes attached to the hopper (6) and a hydraulic cylinder urges the same into sliding sealing engagement with the rotating valve plate. The pumps are individually, alternately and oppositely positioned for charging and discharging, with a common discharge period at the end of the one pump unit (12) and start of the other pump unit (12').</p> |
