The installation comprises means for the entrainment of the rope, a raised deflector (1) ensuring unfolding of the rope withdrawn from the bale (5), a pair of pre-drawing rollers (6, 7), one of which is driven by a motor (8) and at least one pair of opening-out rollers (16, 17, 18, 19) also driven by a motor. Immediately downstream of the pre-drawing rollers (6, 7) is a blower (11) followed by a pair of passive spreading rollers (12, 13).
