<p>PURPOSE:To prevent data from being erroneous due to crosstalk and to make high- speed access possible, by performing decision for the address, tracking, and so on before a rotary head scans the objective data track. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic tape 10 where address information, tracking information, and so on are recorded previously on tracks 17 and 16 along the upper end and the lower end is used, and tape 10 in the stationary state is scanned obliquely by rotary heads 13E, 13W and 13R arranged on the outside circumference of drums 11 and 12 which are provided in the running path of this tape 10. Then, tape 10 is caused to run up to objective data track 19 intermittently, and tape feed is completed during one rotation of rotary head 13, and further, signals reproduced from tracks 17 and 16 are used to perform decision for the address, tracking, and so on before the rotary head scans this data track 19.</p> |
