PURPOSE:To prevent the partial flow of combustion exhaust gases without any gas flow regulating plate and improve the reaction rate achieved by catalyst by so disposing catalyst beds as to position oblique to the gas flow in a solid-gas contact reactor provided with catalysts for removing harmful components of the gas. CONSTITUTION:Gas parallel flow type catalyst beds 1 of a rectangular parallelepiped or the like are disposed in the flow passage of combustion exhasut gases contg. harmful components such as NOx, in a zigzag shape such as V-shaped in such a manner as to position obliquely to the gas flow. These ziazag type catalyst beds 1 are provided in more than single or double stages in the gas flow passage. According to this device, the gas to be treated flows uniformly in all parts of the catalyst beds in parallel with the catalyst surfaces of the catalyst beds and this results in decreased channeling. Since the catalysts of the entire part performs denitration reaction of NOx uniformly, the amount of the catalysts can be made smaller. |
