PURPOSE:To enhance the copying speed as the whole, by making it possible that required data concerning picture information of the original is obtained while the exposure system is moved back to the home position in the normal copying mode. CONSTITUTION:Exposure system part A consisting of exposure lamp 3, reflective mirrors 4 and 5, and so on is moved by the driving system other than the driving system for photosensitive drum 9 and is reciprocated from position (h) to position (j) or (k) according to the size of the original in the copying mode. Exposure system A is reciprocated between position (h) before home position (i) and position (j) or (k), and the rotation speed of drum 9 and the movement speed of exposure system A are caused to agree with each other while exposure system A is moved from position (h) to position (i). Then, for the copying operation in the copying mode, photosensitive 9 starts rotation simultaneously with forward movement of exposure system A from position (h), and slit exposure for the original starting from position (i) is performed under the synchronous state. |
