PURPOSE:To prevent memory contents from changing by storing a read-only memory in a protection case that resists sufficiently an external mechanical shock. CONSTITUTION:This card applies to an ID card used at banks such as a cash card, and a customer's card used in the POS system such as a card used in the allocation system for tank trucks. A code number used to identify a card holder is stored not only magnetically but also in read-only memory (ROM)2, which is installed in protection case 1 that can resist an external mechanical shock sufficiently. Thus, a change in memory contents due to a flaw of the card seldom occurs. |
