<p>The liquid level sensor includes a cylindrical float attached to a shaft inside a tapered tube. A permanent magnet is attached to the upper end of the shaft. A reed contact switch is mounted above the magnet. The magnet is supported on a round base with a tubular section extending down over the end of the sliding shaft. A reduced dia. portion of the hollow tube grips a channel formed around the top of the shaft. The magnetic reed switch sits in a flat dish shaped element with its contacts connected to terminals in a connector. A cable makes electrical contact with the external circuit. When the level of the liquid is low the magnet is too far below the reed switch to effect it, but as the level rises the magnet is brought up to the switch changing its contacts.</p> |
