<p>The hinge is used on side hung cupboard doors (4), and is of a mainly plastics construction. The hinge uses an open door-edge knuckle, (11,12) which slides axially onto a cupboard's axle pin (7). The knuckle has an open quadrant formed by door edge moulding (11) together with the curved outstand (12a) of metal angle strap (12). The axle pin presents a contiguous half circular convex journal bearing surface (8) to the rear with a similar frontal surface (9) formed by braced segmental ribs (15). This frontal surface steps out (18) radially from the bearing surface, the steps acting with shoulders (21,22) and the strap end to limit door movement.</p> |
