PURPOSE:To equalize thickness of the painted film of a fluorescent material, by adequately arranging the holding position for a glass tube in a drying process after applying the paint of water soluble fluorescent material suspension. CONSTITUTION:After applying the paint of water soluble fluorescent material suspension, a position to be held by a holding tool 6 is set to the lower portion of a glass tube 5 during the time for the water soluble fluorescent material suspension in the upper portion to be dried from the top end of the glass tube 5 to, for instance, about 20cm below. When the painted suspension is dried at the upper portion of the glass tube 5, the position held by the holding tool 6 is shifted to the upper portion to complete the work of drying. Here the water soluble fluorescent material suspension is introduced into the glass tube 5 from a nozzle 4 while hot air is introduced from a drying air port 9. |
