<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an aqueous dispersion which is useful as ink paint, fiber treating agent, etc., by safely dispersing a fine resin particle composed mainly of a specific polyester resin in water so as not to lower the water resistance and weather resistance of film formed. CONSTITUTION:A polyester resin, having a molecular weight of 2,500 to 30,000 and a softening point of 40-200 deg.C, is obtained from the reaction of a polycarboxylic acid component, consisting of 40-99.5mol% aromatic dicarboxylic acid (i) containing no metal sulfonate group, 59.5-0mol% aliphatic or alicyclic dicarboxylic acid (ii), and 0.5-10mol% aromatic dicarboxylic acid containing a metal sulfonate group, with a polyol component (iv) consisting of a 2-8C aliphatic glycol or/and a 6-12C alicyclic glycol. Then, an aqueous dispersion system is obtained by mixing said polyester resin (A), a water-soluble organic compound (B) of a boiling point of 60-200 deg.C, e.g., alcohols, and water (C) in such a way as to meet formulas I-III. The aqueous dispersion may further contain an amino resin, an epoxy resin, or an isocyanate compound.</p> |
