Position register system for printing machine - uses plate position which is repeatedly fixed by probe to trigger electric contact

The system is designed to register the accurate position of deformable printing plates on a plate cylinder and uses an electrical probe. The clamping unit (1) has the printing plate (6) located with dowels (8) onto a main base (4). The clamping force is applied by bolts (7) that are threaded into the block and then press against the cylinder (3). The register unit has a probe (16) that is secured into a sleeve (14) that is threaded into a guide block (11). An adjuster (15) allows the plug to be set at the required position. When the probe contacts a sensing surface (10) an electrical contact is closed and an indicator activated.
