The microbiological process for the production of citric acid consists in carrying out the top fermentation in a medium containing carbon and nitrogen sources, mineral salts, growth stimulators and a citric acid-producing microorganism. According to the invention, the strain used is Aspergillus niger R-4 which is selected from the strain Aspergillus niger R-3 by adapting it to media containing various concentrations of cane molasses, by the action of mutagenic factors such as nitrosomethylurea and ultraviolet rays and by natural selection of active cultures, the said strain being deposited in a collection with the Central Museum of Industrial Microorganisms Vsesojuznogo nauchno-issledovatelskogo instituta genetiki i selektsii promyshlennykh microorganizmov and recorded under the No. II-MIIM F-307; once the fermentation is completed, the biomass is separated and the product obtained is isolated from the culture liquid.
|
