摘要 <p>The heat pump using a diesel engine includes a heat exchanger which uses waste heat from the engine exhaust to heat up water circulating through it. The exhaust pipe is connected to a tube with an inner tube of smaller diameter which compresses the gases passing through. Water is circulated through the space between the two tubes to receive the heat from the exhaust gases.. The heated water is used for the refrigerant compressor. The compression of the exhaust gases causes a temperature rise so as to increase the heat extraction without increasing the size of the heat exchanger. This can be combined with a system to protect the entry of water into the engine due to leakage.</p>
