<p>A weft-inserting gripper for a flexible tape loom comprises a fixed claw 2 and a movable and/or resilient weft-engaging member 6 (13) which are arranged to receive and grip a weft thread between them. To ensure reliable gripping of the thread and avoid abrasion of the warp threads by the gripper, the member (6), (13) has a spoon- shaped front end 9 (14). The member may be either a lever mounted for rocking movement on the claw and spring-biased towards a position for gripping a weft thread between its front end and a plate 4 fixed to the claw 2 or a resilient lamina having its rear end secured to the claw while its front end is pressed towards the claw by a leaf spring. <IMAGE></p> |
