<p>A heated nozzle for injection moulding has an insulated resistance heater wound round it and an outer thermal insulation. The nozzle and heater have a coaxial outer sheath, the outer insulation layer consists of ceramic particles between the sheath and nozzle bore, and the sheath plus ceramic materials are consolidated radially before use. Nozzle has minimal o.d. and optimal heating particularly near to the gate.</p> |
