<p>The machine comprises a series of chambers through which the cassette is moved so that exposed film can be unloaded, and transported to the processor, and the cassette can be refilled with the correct size film. A slide mode of transport is used for cassette and for the film charges taken from and reloaded. When not in use the machine is totally closed and light tight. The machine has a first entry section to accept the cassette and move it into the second section where its size and format is determined and where a transport mechanism opens the cassette, takes out the film and transports it to the processor. A third section is the transport stage to the fourth reload section. The second, third and fourth stages are light-tight. The second and fourth sections are side by side alongside the transport and cassette opening appts. All cassette and film movement is by using slides and by sensing movement or travel distance using microswitches.</p> |
