<p>The cap assembly, for a battery's terminal, consists of a base (21) that sits on the terminal beneath the eyelet tag connected to the end of the external lead (27) to the terminal and a cap (20) that fits over the eyelet tag on the terminal and locks to the base. The conducting parts of the terminal and its eyelet tag are thereby completely enclosed (i.e. insulated). Several variations are described, e.g. for straight and 90 deg. connections, for closely adjacent connections between two terminals (continuous double-ended cap assembly), and a cap whose base is integral with it.</p> |
