PURPOSE:To obtain a carbonized carbon sheet having high water-resistance and heat-resistance, etc., and useful as an interior material, etc., by impregnating a fiber cloth with a dispersion containing two components selected from phenolic resin, melamine resin and urea resin, and hard carbon powder, and baking the impregnated cloth. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of a powdery resin mixture having particle diameter of about 100-200mum and composed of two components selected from phenolic resin, melamine resin and urea resin (the mixing ratio is about 100-120:100-80 pts.wt.) is mixed with about 30-50pts.wt. of hard carbon powder having particle diameter of about 110-120mum to obtain a three-component powdery mixture. 100pts.wt. of the three-component powdery mixture is dispersed in about 110-150pts.wt. of a solvent such as methanol (heated to 20 deg.C) in the presence of of a basic hardener (e.g. ammonium chloride). The obtained dispersion is impregnated in a fiber cloth, the solvent is evaporated, and the cloth is baked under pressure. Since the carbonized carbon sheet produced by this process has high electrical conductivity, it can be used as an electric radiation-shielding material. |
