<p>A mechanical counter for use with magnetic tape recorders or players is controlled to allow fast rewinding after a second of tape has been played, followed by stopping at the start point. The counter has three digit discs (1,2,3) that are geared together and are driven by a worm (5) and pinion (6) gear coupled to a motor from a belt (8) and pulley (7). The automatic rewind control is provided by a pivotted lever (16) with a null setting interlock (17) that engages in an indent (18) on one of the discs. At the other end is an eccentrically mounted gear (15) driven from the main shaft. When a specific sections has been played and it is required to return to the start. The disc is released and the counter operates until the null is attained at which point the rewind bar (13) is reset.</p> |
