PURPOSE:To reduce the fall and scattering of mercury from a discharge head by actuating a discharge pipe remover only when a glass pipe which is subsequently mounted on the discharge head is detected on a carrier conveyer. CONSTITUTION:When a discharge head 6 which is located at the best station C arrives at the best station E through an empty head station D, it is detected by a detector 12, such as a switch etc. whether or not a glass pipe 4 which is subsequently to be mounted on the discharge head 6 exists at the corresponding position on a carrier conveyer 2. Only when the glass pipe 4 is detected on the carrier conveyer, a discharge pipe remover is actuated and the remainder of the discharge pipe is removed from the discharge head. |
