PURPOSE:To prevent a trip coil from burning by connecting one end of the coil to one of smoothing condensers provided at the secondary side of a breaker, and connecting the other to the primary side of the breaker. CONSTITUTION:A trip coil 11 is connected at its one end to one of condensers 3 through the malfunction detecting means 6 of a converter 5, and at the other end to the primary side of a breaker 2 to be connected in parallel with the condenser 3. A converter 5 is isolated from a power source 4 at the time of tripping, and the coil 11 is simultaneously disconnected from the condenser 3. Thus, the condenser voltage Vc is applied to the coil 11 only during the breaking time (generally approx. 20-3 msec) of the breaker of an allowable voltage applying time (generally 3-5 sec). |
