PURPOSE:To obtain a cell having superior voltage stability and liquid-leak-proofness in storage at high temperature, by controlling the pH of the positive electrode compound through processing of manganese dioxide and graphite powder with aqueous solution of alkali. CONSTITUTION:The powder of gamma-MnO2 which is obtained through electrolysis and has the average particle size 10-20mum is put into aqueous solution of caustic pottash and held at 60 deg.C for about 10hr, then washed with pure water, and the pH of 7.7-9.5 is obtained after washing. On the other hand, the graphite powder having the average particle size 3-5mum is put into the aqueous solution of caustic pottash and stirred sufficiently, and held at 60 deg.C for about 10hr, then washed with pure water, and the pH after washing is set at 7.5-9.5. Said manganese dioxide and graphite powder are mixed in the ratio of 100:10 by weight, and formed to positive electrode compound. |
