PURPOSE:To enhance performance by supporting a revolving shaft by means of a pair of ball bearings, providing a magnetic field type DC motor including a position detecting mechanism between a pair of said ball bearings, and disposing a rotary polyhedral mirror body on the outside of the support of a pair of the ball bearings. CONSTITUTION:The stator of the light deflector consists of an outside cylinder 72, a stator 73, a ball bearing holding cylinder 74, a position detecting ring 91, Hall elements 92 and 92', etc. Also, the rotor consists of a polyhedral mirror body 51, a revolving shaft 52, a cork member 55, a mounting nut 56, a rotary magnet 58, balance rings 59, 60, and ball bearings 61 and 62. The outer races of a pair of the ball bearings 61 and 62 are supported by a balancing tester and are thereby balanced. The rotary polyhedral mirror 51 is made of metals and has been subjected to mirror surface finishing by a diamond turning method. As a result, the high-performance product which is equivalent in accuracy, has stable quality and about 70% in size as compared to light deflectors of conventional type is obtained. |
