SECOPROSTAGLANDIN AND ITS PREPARATION

NEW MATERIAL:Secoprostaglandins of formula I (B is double or triple bond; Y is monovalent organic group of 1-10 carbon atoms; R is H, alkyl of 1-6 carbon atoms, pharmaceutically permissible cation; Z is H, protecting group). EXAMPLE:8-Acetyl-12-t-butyldimethylsiloxyheptadeca-5-cis-10-trans-dienoic methyl ester. USE:They are prepared readily in low costs and expected to have prostaglandinlike activities. They can be administered orally or parenterally. PREPARATION:A compound of formula II (Z' is protecting group) is alkylated with a compound of formula III (X is halogen; R' is 1-6C alkyl) or the reaction of methyl vinyl ketone with a compound of formula IV [L is phenylthio; (n) is 1, 2] is followed by the reaction with a compound of formula III. Further, when necessary, the removal of protecting groups or hydrolysis is effected to produce the compound of formula I.
