PURPOSE:To enhance the voltage rising effect of a high voltage generator by elongating and contracting a piezoelectric substrate by the actions of the current of a drive electrode and electrostatic magnetic field, generating electric fields in respective polarizing regions, synthesizing the electric fields and producing it externally through an auxiliary electrode. CONSTITUTION:A high voltage generating member 3 is arranged in an electrostatic magnetic field 2 formed by the magnetic poles N, S of a permanent magnet 1. In this member 3, a plurality of polarizing regions 5 are formed longitudinally through respective boundary regions 6 in a piezoelectric substrate, and the polarizing directions 9. 9' of the region 5 are so formed as to be reverse direction to each other at adjacent regions. Short fence-shaped auxiliary electrdes 7 are formed in the region 6, and the upper portion is covered with an insulating layer 8 formed of nonpiezoelectric film. A drive electrode 9 in which a plurality of parallel units 9i, 9i+1,... are superposed on the electrode 7 is formed thereon. The piezoelectric substrate is elongated and contracted by the actions of the current of the electrode 9 and the electrostatic magnetic field, electric fields are generated in the respective regions 5, are synthesized, and produced externally through the electrodes 7, thereby enhancing the voltage rising effect thereof. |
