PURPOSE:To enable optical fiber strands to be supported accurately at the center with good workability by providing a bore conforming to an optical fiber diameter in one body with the coupling end face part and inner required part to the inside hole for optical fiber insertion of a support. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber support 10 is made to permit easy insertion of an optical fiber strand as the one end of its supporting member 7 of which the holes at both end parts are precisely pierced so as to have the bore conforming to the outside diameter of the optical fiber strand is further beveled 14 to a conical tray shape. Additionally, the outside diameter thereof is finished precisely based on the precise holes at both end parts of the supporting member 7. Said support 10 is press-fitted into the hole 302 in such a manner that the end 304 of an optical fiber supporting device member 300 and the polished coupling end face go flush. The reference outside diameter 301 of the member 300 and the hole 302 are so made that the respective centers exactly align; hence, the deviation of the centers of the holes at both end parts of the supporting member 7 of the support 10 press-fitted into this hole 302 and the center of the outside diameter 301 is slight. |
