PURPOSE:To enhance the shelf stability of a photosensitive material and the light resistance and stability of the resulting dye by adding a specified magenta coupler and a 1-phenyl-3-pyrazolidone deriv. having a diffusion resistant group in the presence of an organic solvent of high b.p. for photographic additives to attain enhanced coloring sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:To an emulsion layer or its adjacent layer are added a two-equivalent thio-substituted coupler of 5-pyrazolone represented by formula I (where R1 is anilino, acylamino or ureido, R2 is aralkyl, alkyl or alkenyl, and each of X1-X3 is H, alkyl, halogen, alkoxy, aryloxy, acylamino, carbamoyl, sulfamoyl, sulfonyl or CN) and a 1-phenyl-3-pyazolidone deriv. represented by formula II [where R3 is (substituted) aryl, the substituent includes halogen and alkyl-nitro or the like, and each of R4-R7 is H, (substituted) alkyl, aryl, CN, OH or the like]. Thus, fog is reduced, the shelf stability of the alkylthio-eliminated coupler is enhanced, and the stability of the resulting dye is enhanced. |
