PURPOSE:To prepare L-tryptophan, by reacting indole with serine, or indole with pyruvic acid and ammonoum ion in the presence of microorganisms belonging to Aeromonas genus, etc. CONSTITUTION:Microrganisms belonging to Aeromonas genus, Vibrio genus, or Bacillus genus, and capable of producing L-tryptophan from indole and serine or indole, pyruvic acid and ammonium ion, e.g. Aeromonas hydrophila sp. hydrophila IFO-12658, Vibrio anguillarum ATCC-14181, etc., are cultured in a medium. L- Tryptophan is prepared by reacting indole with serine or indole with pyruvic acid and ammonium ion in the presence of the cultured product or treated cultured product. |
