<p>PURPOSE:To produce an oxygen-containing gas having high concentration ecoomically from air, by using an adsorbent comprising a zeolite substituted a part of its Na with an alkaline earth metal, and operating plural adsorption columns packed with said adsorbent according to a specific pressure cycle. CONSTITUTION:A part of Na of a zeolite is substituted with an alkaline earth metal such as Ca, Sr, Ba, etc. to obtain an A-type, X-type or Y-type zeolite having high N2/O2 adsorption ratio. The zeolite is formed to a desired form and activated to obtain an adsorbent, and plural adsorption columns furnished with adsorption beds containing said adsorbent are provided to form an oxygen concentration system. Compressed air is supplied to the adsorption columns to effect the adosrption of mainly N2 to the zeolite adsorbent in the column. Each adsorption column is operated according to the pressure cycle of (adsorption)- (parallel flow pressure reduction)-(equalization and discharge)-(pressure reduction)-(cleaning I )-(cleaning II)-(compression of oxygen-enrichd gas)-(equalization and compression)-(compression of feed gas <air>) as shown in the Table 5. A gas having an oxygen concentration of as high as >=90% can be produced economically from air.</p> |
