A lottery apparatus comprises a closed container in which a roll of continuous strip of tickets numbered in a random disorder is completely enclosed. Means are provided in the container for the withdrawal of the strip from the container through an outlet opening thereof and for preventing the strip when withdrawn to be returned to the container. The container prevents reading of the number of a ticket until it is completely withdrawn from the container.
