The combined suction/pressure pump is used for all depths. It comprises two columns (C, D) of equal capacity with pistons (A, B) in the top of each, linked together and to a lever (P) giving movement of the pistons in opposite directions. At the bottom of one of the tubes (D), three pistons (1, 2, 3) are installed on a common rod (4). Upward and downward action of the left hand top piston (A) transmits movement to the lower pistons (1, 2, 3). Water is induced through a non-return valve (12) into the intermediate chamber (10) and then, by pressure, through the lower valve (14) into the ascending column (C).
